True, Pete, we have some advantages which our ancestors didn't have 100 years ago. I'm thinking that social media is possibly prolonging our current situation but don't really know how much it's hurting things. I'm sure it's helping in some ways but doesn't seem to be in others.

Di, Ashleigh Barty won the Auatralian Open. After so many years of hoping and heartbreaks, finally an Aussie lass took the trophy. Congrats.

This malady has taken away or transformed many things that we took for granted, Margie. Travel, lodging, celebrations, even family relations. And so far we can't even guess how long it will take for us  to return to some form of normalcy. Yet, compared to the pandemic of 100 years ago, I believe we are  in a much better position to tame it. We have many things that did not exist then. Antibiotics, to begin with. And new generation laboratories. 100 years of knowledge, top of the line research institutions, hospitals and universities searching for a cure. So, be patient, soon there will be a cure.

I don't know, Pete. I haven't seen her in years but have seen her brother-in-law. I asked him, but he hasn't responded yet. My high school class had been planning a reunion for September, but I just heard that they've postponed it. Now, I just have to figure out how to get to Portland, OR for the wedding of one of my sons in a couple of months. It was easier to travel when I was younger.
