As a bit of trivia, here in Quebec women always keep their maiden names. You can use it on personal mail but no one really does as legally it never changes when you marry. All your legal and medical files are maiden name as well. It's to make it easier for geneaologists and also it was a feminist support thing when it began. I still find it was confusing for kids, but as they are all used to it that's not a problem any more. They can take either parents name or hyphenate.
