Rachel, The moose sound scary! Would a motion light work in the supreme cold that you have? Then you wouldn't have to hold a flashlight (if that's what you do) to take the doggie out. And if the light was already on when you went out then you'd be able to see the moose (if they were what set off the light). Just a thought.
