This has been a repeated topic for discussion for all the time I've been playing.  I think there are some mysterious scoring rules that I've never been able to deduce.  For a long time, I thought there would be no difference in playing a card up early as opposed to letting it go up automatically at the end of the game.  Then I thought it was better to leave as many cards down to be played up automatically.  Lately I've been wondering if you get a better score if you move low cards up yourself and leave higher cards to go up automatically.  For me at least, I don't think the scoring is random (except maybe for the mysterious occasional case where the assigned number of moves is one less that the number of moves shown just at the end of the game). I don't think it's random because if I really make the same plays, I get the same score...

I play this game for fun, for my fun. I am not in a competition with anyone. My only competition is with myself. So I'm not worried about other people's scores. Still, I am curious about some of the things I see. I am not hte best player of the lot, but I get reasonably good scores. Perhaps if I dedicated more time to the study of the game I could shave moves and get some better scores, but I am not inclined to do so. And I see other players with better scores than mine, but not too far away. But when I play a game and someone makes 22 less moves than me, I take notice and play the game carefully to see where I can find that elusive path, that crack in the wall where I can slip through to those amazing scores and I can't find it. Or when I see someone scoring 72 moves, something hard to believe for me.. Can someone explain to me if there is something in the scoring method that I have not seen that will allow me to perform such notable wonders?

I just read some more about it, Di. I hadn't seen the latest news. Some people just don't seem to care about other people. At least some don't seem to care from what I've read.

I kept telling myself not to cover the 4, but kept doing it.
