Just back after a week off and read Dee's dreadful news. So sorry to hear of such great loss.

yes this is great as we have that here in Manitoba as well during the holiday season.

Here in Montreal, over the holidays (though it would be great if it were year round) volunteers drive people home, in pairs..with the other person driving the car of the person who drank too much ..back home also. There is a number to call, and two people will come to wherever you happen to be. It is all on a volunteer basis, with mostly students doing it. It is called Operation Nez Rouge (red nose) and has reduced the number of holiday drunk driving accidents and fatalities in the metropolitan area over the holidays. Yes, people drinking responsibly, not at all, or having a designated driver is better...but when that fails to work..its a great option. Because yes, it is a needless tragedy!!

Dee, my heart goes out to you and your sister and all of the families involved. Such a needless tragedy!

Dee, I am so, so sorry that this horrible tragedy has happened to you and your family. I just don't know what to say. Anytime you need to talk, vent, whatever, there'll always be one or more of us here, to listen. I'll keep you and your family in my prayers.
