Thank you for your comments, Robin. It was your original method I was using. As well as your clues, I also played 6 over, Q on K, 10 on J, 6 on 7. At the end, I played the hearts up to 9, switching as necessary, then played up the clubs to 10, also switching as necessary.

Your determination will take you farther than the energy you use to give up.....

Wow! I just played this with a few changes, hoping to lose a move or two and went from 151 to 137! it was more by luck than judgement - I had just about given up on the game. I'll see if I can repeat it and leave a clue or two.
