Anyone out there for help on last move?

There must be two different ways to get 119...I didn't bring down the J. It played over after the flip. I suppose that's another one of my alternative moves.

harleyman, I don't know if this fits in with your question but, generally, when we say something plays "up", we mean that it doesn't get moved except to be played "straight up". For example, in today's game, the 4 plays up in the strict sense of the word. It gets moved directly to the Ace pile without moving it previously. In that case, some players like to say that it plays "straight up". However, the 3 "plays up" but FIRST it gets moved to the 4 so we wouldn't generally say that it "plays up". Saying that something "plays up" or "plays straight up" is to help other players save a move. Hope that makes sense !

Well, yes, but that's true in just about every game. You do have to bring down the J to get at the 9, and you do have to move the K to get to the 10. If you do two flips, you'll get 120.

Well, on some moves you have to bring down in order to play up and over.

Sorry harleyman, I don't understand what you mean - I generally play "up and over whenever possible."
