mclarkjr, I know where Cookeville is. I live in Paris, TN. It's about half way between Memphis and Nashville. It's a fairly small town about 20 min from Kentucky Lake. We do a lot of boating in the summer. Also, thank you for the good wishes and prayers. I waited too long between colonoscopies and that's probably why I have the one that is too large to take out with the scope. I'm not worried about the procedure, just about what they find (and how much I'll have to pay). I really, really appreciate all the good wishes from my SC friends. I can't tell my kids how worried I am and hate to worry my boyfriend any more than he already is - so you guys may have to be my sounding board.

dphifer, just wanted to say hope your colon procedure goes well. will pray for you. I'm due for a colonocopy myself next year. had some polyps removed in 2001. am currently on a 5 year cycle for colonoscopies.

Hey dphifer. I went to Tennessee Tech in Cookeville. graduated 1980. Where in TN are you from?

dphifer: I spoke to a friend this evening, who has had the "lap" surgery a number of times. He said is was "almost" nothing. You are now going thru the "worst" of it, the mental pain... so his recomondation (as he knows I have a wine cellar) is to go have a glass of GOOD wine, some cheese, and the company of a friend or two. He's not a doctor but I like the Rx... yes?

Thanks chuffy, I feel fine now, but I have to admit I am worried about them having to get the larger polyp by laproscopic (probably spelled that wrong). I just wish it were all over and everything was okay. I just try to stay busy and keep my mind off of it. It helps having all my SC friends to make me laugh!

Never mind. I just googled it and found out it does not get you high and it also told how it was made. I can't believe I've never heard of it before. Or maybe I did in the 70's and just "forgot" about it! LOL I will stick to a glass or few of wine! Lynne, the call me mellow yellow had me laughing so hard I cried. Thanks, I needed that
