Poem for Joan Crawford

My friend, Gretchen, was a huge fan of Joan Crawford. Mostly with her efforts and with a little input from me, we came up with a poem as a tribute to Joan and her brief life here on earth.

~~ "Joan Crawford" ~~

Joan Joan, our darling,
So delicate and sweet.
How much we will miss
The way you'd dance on your feet!

Your personality was delightful;
Your nose was so pink.
Friendship was abundant;
And your fur was like mink.

We all wanted to adopt you,
But Susan, of course, said, "No!"
So we plotted and planned in secret
To steal you away from the show!

We so love and admire you, Joan,
With your saucy but elegant ways.
We'll carry you deep within our hearts
Until we reach our final days.

Now you're home with Our Father,
With birds, flowers, and a breeze,
At Rainbow Bridge with your kitty friends,
And one day, with us . . . on our knees.
