The story game!

by Adam Lyttle » 2006-09-08 11:39:47 #4838

I've seen this on a few forums and thought it would be interesting. It's a collaborative story, someone writes one line then someone writes the next line. The story evolves from post to post. You're not allowed to contribute more than 1 line and you have to wait for someone else to post before you can contribute again. Let me get started.

Once upon a time there lived a girl called Joanne.

by Saam » 2006-09-09 12:40:59 #5924

She wanted to find something interesting & meaningful to do with her life.

by Adam Lyttle » 2006-09-09 14:57:13 #5925

So one day she went down to the beach.

by Keggie » 2006-09-10 10:30:38 #5926

And there she found a message in a bottle.

by Saam » 2006-09-10 11:10:22 #5927

She wasn't sure if she should open it - she could be reading someone else's private mail!

by lgy » 2006-09-10 12:27:25 #5928

But after a moment's hesitation, she broke the bottle on a rock and fished out the message.

It was impossible for her to read, however, as it was written in a language that was unfamiliar to her.

So she took it to a friends house to see whether he could make any sense of it.

by Xavor » 2006-09-10 10:39:05 #5931

Her friend, Baldrick, took one look at the aging parchment and screamed in horror.

by Renee » 2006-09-10 15:07:16 #5932

"You must never tell anyone you found this", he shouted.

by Saam » 2006-09-11 11:38:44 #5933

"But what does it say?" she asked with a perplexed frown.

by Adam Lyttle » 2006-09-11 16:11:14 #5934

"It's the secrets to the mystery of a lost land! A land that was assumed to be a myth, until now! Rumour has it that there is a group of people who will protect this secret, at any cost!" He says, while at the same time trying to avoid sounding like The Da Vinci Code.

by Xavor » 2006-09-12 17:25:08 #5935

"A lost land? Myth? Secret? What are you talking about? Can you read it?" were the questions thrown back at him.

by Dee » 2006-09-12 11:32:36 #5936

Of course I can read it you fool!...It says, "Ew llahs reven nrael eht terces fo eht tsot danl esuaceb madA did ton wollof eht selur fo gniyalp htiw eno enil!"

by Saam » 2006-09-12 16:36:38 #5937

"tsot danl...is that some kind of salad" she mused while trying to thumb through the rule book that had mysteriously appeared in her hand.

by Xavor » 2006-09-12 17:56:05 #5938

"Nooooooooooooooooooooo! I said the words, I said the words! It's all coming true! he screamed as he ran out the door.

by Renee » 2006-09-12 13:26:40 #5939

Suddenly, a tall man with a beard was standing in front of her, he grabbed the rule book from her hands.

by Wingy » 2006-09-13 06:18:36 #5940

"Come with me" he demanded, "and we will take this rule book through yonder portal to the secret land to search for Adam, The Wizard of Solitaire!"

by emm » 2006-09-13 07:47:26 #5941

Rules, Schmules, but I am interested in that salad, so she followed the bearded one through yonder portal.

by Dee » 2006-09-13 10:20:14 #5942

They climbed aboard an old pirate ship and crossed the pond to find the Great Wizard, for only he could answer their questions.
