How many pets do you have?

by Adam Lyttle » 2006-08-24 17:48:46 #4796

I thought it would be interesting to find out how many pets people have.

Personally we have 1 cat, his name is Sully. I think he is around 4 or 5 years old. He's a big cat though, one of the biggest that I know. Perhaps it's something we put in his food?

Heres a photo of him:

Gosh he's gorgeous! Love the green eyes too. I currently have 1 cat - Murni, brown burmese. Soon to celebrate her 19th birthday! Don't get too excited, her mother Dewi died last year at the ripe old age of 21!!!
I go to my parents to get a "kitten fix" as Murni's main pursuits are sleeping & eating...when I was growing up we had anything up to 20 cats around as my parents breed them. Warm in Winter! I don't have any digital photos...

I'm not allowed pets where I live unfortunately, but my mom's taking care of my dog, Bob (short for Rambobinette, don't ask.), who is turning 16 this year. She's a fairly big dog and a mix of german shepherd and briard (http://www.terrificpets.com/dog_breeds/Briard.asp).

I grew up on a farm and thus had access to a lot of pets I normally wouldn't have had the means to keep. Over the years I've had hordes of cats, a fair amount of dogs, rabbits, ducks, geese, turkeys, chickens, horses and even a pet bull. We'd find a lot of abandonned pets as kids and take them home till they found a permanent owner, which sometimes was us.

I was never spoiled rotten with toys and candy as a kid, we got pets instead. smile

In February, we found ourselves with Ali' i, an Austrialian Shepherd 5 year old dog. His previous owners had to move and could not take him with them. My youngest daughter had been dog sitting for him for a few years, so he already knew us quite well. He is black and white and loves, loves, loves to play with tennis balls.

What does TD stand for? In Australia, most footy fans go for teams in their city/state. We have 2 AFL teams in Adelaide & competition is preety fierce. Aren't the Raiders in LA?

@Saam: Are you a crows or port supporter? smile

by Saam » 2006-08-26 11:39:13 #5746

I'm NOT! But my father in law is Port because he hates the Crows...I used to go for Redlegs when I was little. Who do you support, Adam?

by Adam Lyttle » 2006-08-26 11:44:34 #5747

I really don't follow the AFL, shame on me. The rest of my family follows it more than I do. My fiance goes for port, my grandparents go for crows, some of my uncles go for port, others go for crows. So when we have family get-togethers their is typically a discussion, I mean an argument, about who is the best team smile

EDIT: Wow, we went way off topic with this one!

It's all @mikmac's fault! smile No, I have a tendency to go off topic sometimes (I can hear you folks saying "Really? You don't say!") tongue
