My screen was pretty large and the game board was near the top so I guess there was no room for any titles or whatever. As soon as you sign on, boom, you are in the "waiting room" ready to play. Xavor was in the waiting room, but did not play which gave me an opportunity to play anyway. That was nice.
Thanks, Adam for letting us play this new game. I have always loved this one (Tetris).

Hey! When was that?
I keep getting a "Waiting" sign and no-one around!

Must have just missed you, Xavor. Sorry sad

Excellent! So a few people had a chance to play, thats good to see.

A couple of good suggestions already. I will make an option to rotate the pieces one way or the other. Personally, the way it rotates is the way I like it.

This is how it works: If you are the last person to logout, the game won't kick you out until the next person comes along. This would account for issues where you join a game and someone is already in there, but within a few moments they log out.

Issues I'm mainly interested including: If the game goes out of sync (one or more people are playing but others cant, even know they have been in the game since the start), the game stops updating (you cant see the current moves of other players) and issues where the game stays in limbo (a new game doesnt start, even know there are players in the room).

When the game goes live I plan on having the same sort of layout as Solitiare and Sudoku, the new game bar, the profile bar, the play/rules/stats(ranks?)/forum/about tabs. The new game will have the following difficulties:

Easy: You can use left and right to move the pieces
Medium: You can use left, right and down to move the pieces. When you clear more than 2 rows it adds extra rows to your opponents.
Hard: You can use left, right, down and spacebar (fast down) to move the pieces. When you clear more than 2 rows it adds extra rows to your opponents.

Additionally, when you win an easy game you will get 1 point, a medium game will get you 3 points and a hard game will get you 5 points.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

I will add a forum to the site soon.

At the moment I am very busy with work, I probably won't have time to play around with the game until Thursday or Friday at the latest. So in the meantime just use this thread to talk about it and post bugs.

One last note: When you leave the game you may want to click the "Quit" button. This button will be removed when more games are added, but for the time being if you are the last person to leave and the first person to join again you will get a "Server full" response. If you hit the "Quit" button midway through a game the server will ignore your game, even if it looks like you are still playing. So noone else will see you in the game.

I'm on it now - anyone want to play me...?

by Adam Lyttle » 2006-09-26 11:58:30 #6052

I'll join in @saam smile Not for long though.

Edit: Hmm, I joined in and I could see you @saam but I couldn't see you playing. Did you see me join the game? Were you able to play? Did the game start?

I just played one game. Fraug was on, but I do not know if he was playing as both small screens went to total blocks. When I lost, it did not tell me that fraug won, so I am not sure if he was still there.

Uh weird, I wasn't playing at all .. I had accidently left the window open.

A few bugs for me to look at.. Fun fun! smile

I just played Wingy, I thought I was supposed to get to the top first with my blocks, ha, ha. I was a very messy player and not worthy of one so organized. I wanted a place to practice or at least warm up before I went out on the court. If I could play against the computer for awhile I would have more confidence playing against a real person. Maybe players should be rated so you could go up against someone who is close in speed. All in all, I could get hooked on this! smile

No I didn't see you @Adam Lyttle, but I saw your convo at the bottom. Just trying to play with @fraug & @Wingy at the moment, waiting...waiting for it to start.
When I logged on just now, I could see their game happening. When it finished, we all waited to see what would happen next...

@emm you're a gem! smile

Getting a 3 person game started seems a little tricky .. It was just sitting at waiting for game start .. Also sometimes when the game ends the winner just keeps on playing instead of it starting a new game. Oh and 's seem to translate into '

The major thing missing from this game is the cheezy music. That is a must! And being able to see others' scores would be nice.

Oh yeah 30s is way too long to wait!

by Saam » 2006-09-26 16:21:47 #6060

You guys didn't go on & play another game then did you @fraug? I'm still sitting, waiting...

by fraug » 2006-09-26 16:23:38 #6061

Saam yeah you disappeared .. Try refreshing if it says waiting for new game and the timer isn't going.

by Saam » 2006-09-26 16:29:24 #6062

I've tried that a couple of times - the 1st time it refreshed really quickly, now it's just sitting there. sad

Hmm, needs a little more work. Later this week I will have a play around with it.

For everyone who wants to play a single player version, try out a standalone game I made years ago:

Thanks Adam! I downloaded your game so now I can get a handle on how to play, I'm going to be a monster on the court. smile smile

by fraug » 2006-09-27 13:18:37 #6066

Uh .. it looks to me that the players dont get the same pieces .. I don't know if you were planning that but I definately think it's a must.
