low time vs low moves

by dietdrpepper » 2012-12-20 17:16:59 #5241

I am finding it difficult trying to improve my time and lower moves at the same time. I think I would get more satisfaction lowering the # of moves and I don't like the feeling of playing the same game over and over hypnotized in trying to lower my time. Any ideas or opinions would be appreciated.

Hey dietdrpepper. Just to make sure you're clear. Your best time and moves are recorded whenever you reach them even if they are not the same time through. If for the challenge of it you could try for your fastest time the first few times through and then work on lowering moves.

Thanks Fizzbut, I also appreciate the guide to low moves posted by King of Hearts.

Hi @dietdrpepper. I play a game through maybe 3 times to see how I do on my own, then look and see what the statistics for the game are and read the tips below that game. I then play the game a few times trying to lower my score by incorporating the tips - not always as easy as it sounds. That usually gets me a lower score than I could do on my own, then I look at my time. I'm still slow and steady - I aim to play an easy game in under 3 minutes, but I haven't gone under 2 minutes yet. I then play the game a few more times to try to get what is an acceptable time for me, but no more than 8-10 times in total.

DietDrPepper - I have found many games with the lowest moves are NOT the best times. Most games the Miss Lany requires more moves... so... I play for low moves, them get pattern I can replicate over and over again. It took me 4-5 months to really get it down
